The amazing A350-900 ULR was specially made for Singapore Airlines so that they can beat the record for the world's longest flight. Singapore Airlines did operate this ultra long haul route from Singapore to Newark before with their A340's but cancelled the route shortly after due to rising fuel prices. This route was relaunched with the A350-900 ULR on 11 October 2018. Qantas, the main Australian carrier, has asked Airbus to make more A350-900 ULR so that they can beat the world record with a 21 hour flight from Sydney to London which is called 'project double sunrise' as when you fly this route you get to see 2 sunrises. This route is expected to begin in 2021 or 2022.
