AIRBUS A380-800 -The giant of the sky

Updated: May 30, 2021

The Airbus A380-800 entered service with Singapore Airlines on 15 October 2007. It has a typical seating capacity of 525 passengers, but it has been certified to fit 853 passengers. It is powered by four Engine Alliance GP7200 or Rolls-Royce Trent 900 turbofans, providing a range of 8,000 nmi (14,800 km). It is the first-ever fully 2-floored plane in the entire world. It is such an amazing sight to see or be inside an A380, but all good things must come to an end.

Due to the rise of fuel-efficient planes that can fly the same distance for less fuel, many airlines such as Air France and Singapore Airlines are retiring their A380s after just 13 years of service, but airlines like Emirates and Lufthansa are thinking of keeping these amazing planes flying for the next couple of years. Airbus, when they originally announced the A380 or A3XX, they announced the A380F, the cargo version of the A380 but for some reason, Airbus scrapped the idea.
