Air India Express flight IX1334 that was en route from Dubai to Kozhikode overran the runway yesterday night and the fuselage broke into several pieces. Onboard that unlucky flight, there were 190 passengers onboard including 174 adults, 10 infants, 4 cabin crew and 2 pilots. Luckily, not many died and the plane did not catch fire! As of the time of writing, there are only 16 fatalities and the others are either badly injured or have minor injuries but this was not the first time this happened. The last time was in 2010, when IX812 to Mangalore (also from Dubai) continued an unstabilized approach, despite three calls from the First Officer to go around. This resulted in the aircraft overshooting the runway, falling down a hillside, and bursting into flames.
Do you think Air India will recover from this?
