BREAKING NEWS: British Airways 787's Gear Collapses

BREAKING NEWS | A British Airways Boeing 787 suffered from a nose gear collapse in London Heathrow Airport this morning. The aircraft was seen laying its forward fuselage on the ground after the gear collapsed while preparing for taxi. Also, it seems like a vehicle got trapped below the broken nose gear. The incident took place at London Heathrow Stand 583, between Terminals 5C and 3

The aircraft in the incident is G-ZBJB, an 8.2-year-old Boeing 787-8, which was delivered to British Airways in June 2013. It was British Airways' first-ever Boeing 787. The aircraft was being used for cargo operations at the time and no passengers were on board. No injuries have been reported so far.

Here is a statement by British Airways regarding the incident:

“A freighter aircraft has been damaged while stationary on stand. As a freighter-only aircraft, there were no passengers on board.
“Safety is always our highest priority and we are investigating the matter.”

Why do you think the gear collapsed?
