Breaking news- Iberia buys over Air Europa for 607 Million USD!

Breaking news- A major Spanish Long-Haul carrier, Iberia (IB) has bought over Spanish Short- Haul carrier Air Europa (AE) for a price of 500 Million Euros (607 Million USD)!

This follows an announcement of International Airlines Group (IAG), which is a group Iberia is a part of's announcement on the 3rd of November 2019 that was impacted and delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This business deal however, will most likely not affect any Air Europa flights scheduled as it does NOT start effective immediately.

No more information has been given by the airlines yet, and the other details are confidential.
