BREAKING NEWS- Japan Airlines 777 returns back to airport after an engine failure!

A Japan Airlines 777-200 with registration JA8978 (Japan Airlines flight 904) which was doing a routine passenger flight from Naha, Japan to Tokyo, Japan suffered a mid-flight engine failure 20 minutes after departure. Fortunaltely, the engine did not catch fire and the pilots managed to land the aircraft safely 30 minutes later back in Naha Airport. All of the 178 passengers and 11 crew members were survived and there were no injuries at all and according to a passenger statement, the pilots and crew were very calm and they had a clear mindset of what they had to do.

After the aircraft had landed, it was noticed that a few fan blades were missing and an engine cover was badly damaged. An investigation is currently going on to find out why this near-fatal incident happened. As of right now, the most likely conclusion is its old age and a few cracks that were not seen by the maintenance or ground crew since the aircraft in question is 23.5 years old.

However, please do note that you should still not be afraid of flying even after this incident because millions of flights take off and land every year, and out of those, only one or two of them actually result in an emergency which, most of the time, does not even end fatally.
