Another aircraft accident happened again- an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 777 skids off runway at Lagos and got stuck in the mud. A video from the scene displays ground staff having to shovel out mud to free the airplane. No injuries were reported, and the aircraft returned back to service after the incident.
On the final approach to the airport, the pilots of the flight found the aircraft too far left to make it onto the runway. Owing to this, the airplane landed off the centreline and skidded off the runway.
The aircraft involved in the incident is ET-ASL, A 6-year-old Boeing 777-300ER, which was converted into a freighter due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The airplane was operating flight ET3905 from Addis Ababa to Lagos.
After the incident, the aircraft was dug out of the mud and continued its journey back to Addis Ababa, undamaged.
