Many might know that Boeing is the pioneer in aviation and have been the 1st in sales of aircraft and revenue for many years, followed by Airbus but right now, Boeing is in a rough patch, and they are losing thousands of dollars every day compared to Airbus which is only facing a loss of a couple of hundreds every day.
What are the problems at Boeing you may ask?
1: COVID-19
Once the COVID-19 pandemic hit the shores, Airbus and Boeing were losing a lot of revenue every day because no airline had the demand to order new planes and the people who were supposed to make the planes already on order had been infected. Boeing was more impacted by this than Airbus because they were already suffering a big loss from their 737MAX and 787 Dreamliner issues while Airbus did not have many problems, and they were still receiving some orders for their A220s which were perfect for low-demand travel!
2: 737MAX issues
Many of us know that the 737MAX has recently been ungrounded after a long period of time so many passengers still have doubts of flying on it and the sales are not booming because airlines do not want people not booking flights just because the airplane flying that flight is a 737MAX.
3: Boeing's Everett plant issues
Over at Boeing's Everett plant, there is a major issue with quality control. Despite warning their staff many times, airlines still find debris in their engine and wrong seat layouts which could risk the life of many onboard. However, Boeing got sick with this nonsense and announced that it would shut down its Everett plant by 2022 and let go of the problematic employees, which, costs money.
4: Boeing's 787 Dreamliner issues
Boeing's rather new 787 Dreamliner has been having problems ever since its first flight. Almost every few months, new problems can be found in their 787 Dreamliners, but they are usually found in the first batch of 787 Dreamliners ever made, so it was not a big deal but earlier this month, a problem was found in all 787's ever made! It was an issue with the 787's vertical stabilizer that could affect more than 900 airplanes!
In total, all of these 4 problems are enough to put a company down, but it is very unlikely that Boeing will become bankrupt soon, or ever because they are a cash-rich company.
