What happened to the Japan Airlines "Tokyo 2020" livery airplane?

Many of us know that the Olympic Games was delayed last year to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the surge of COVID-19 cases, Japan Airlines painted one of their Boeing 777s in a special "Tokyo 2020" livery after becoming a supporting member of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The aircraft painted in the special livery is a 13.9-year-old Boeing 777-246 with registration JA773J. According to FlightRadar24, the aircraft has not had any flights since the delivery of the Olympic torch on 12 March 2020. The aircraft is likely in long-term storage as of 22 March 2021. However, the big question is: Will the aircraft be re-painted into "Tokyo 2021" instead of "Tokyo 2020" livery due to the delay of the Olympic Games? The short answer is no. Whilst the Olympic Games this year should be re-branded into "Tokyo 2021", the head of the Tokyo Olympics stated that it would save a lot of money in planning and merchandise if we stick to the current "Tokyo 2020" campaign.

Also, the plane's livery may be removed soon after all due to the travel restrictions in Japan, making it inefficient to operate a big Boeing 777.
