Wizz Air Airbus A320 Diverted Shortly After Departure

A few minutes ago, A Wizz Air Airbus A320 was seen diverted back to Katowice, Poland for an unspecified reason. The airplane took off from Katowice airport at 10.48 am UTC, bound for Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine on flight W61023. However, due to an unknown reason, the airplane diverted back to Katowice and landed safely about an hour later at 12.14 pm UTC. No injuries have been reported so far.


The aircraft in question that was operating on the route was HA-LPU, a 12.2-year-old Airbus A320-200. The aircraft joined Wizz Air's fleet in April 2009.


Wizz Air is a Hungarian low-cost airline that serves over 44 countries worldwide. Founded in 2003, Wizz Air is one of the newest budget airlines in the market.
