Is Chinese-Built Aircraft The Future Of Aviation?

The aviation industry is changing rapidly- many new manufacturers are willing to challenge the giants of the industry, Airbus and Boeing, with many of them based in China. Will Chinese-Built Aircraft be the future of aviation? Continue reading to find out!

China is the largest growing aviation market in the world. Owing to that, Airbus and Boeing are trying to convince Chinese Airlines to use their aircraft. However, one big problem is in the way- Chinese Aircraft Manufacturers. Why use aircraft created elsewhere that have long waiting lists when you can get a locally made aircraft?!

One of the biggest airplane manufacturers in China, COMAC, is striving to beat Airbus and Boeing in the Chinese market by creating aircraft that appeal to Chinese Airlines. In fact, they have already created one aircraft- the COMAC ARJ21. The ARJ21 is a 90-seater short-haul aircraft that entered service with Chengdu Airlines in 2016. As of now, the ARJ21 has many operators worldwide, with the most in China.

Other than the ARJ21, COMAC is currently creating the COMAC C919. The C919 is a middle-of-the-market short-haul aircraft that is intended to compete with the A320neo and 737MAX. So far, COMAC has managed to get a thousand commitments to the aircraft. The launch for the aircraft is supposedly later this year, with OTT Airlines.

Also, in addition, another Chinese-built aircraft coming on the market is the CR929. Read this article to find out about the CR929.

In a nutshell, there is a very high chance that Chinese-built aircraft may be the future of aviation. We just need to wait and see!
